I have twice had the pleasure of being directed by Mike Haddad. His many years of teaching and performance experience is evident in his eye for the unique strengths of others, his determination in bringing out their potential, and his generosity and respectfulness in considering people’s time and practical/logistical needs. I greatly appreciated Mike’s commitment to directing in accord with what I truly had to offer and what I desired to achieve, not what the world would typecast me to be. - James W.
Mike's talents as an actor's director are made even deeper by his extensive knowledge of theatrical text and history. He brings an understanding of material that can help any actor make a performance more specific and insightful for both the actor and the audience.

I had the privilege of being directed by Mike in a production of The Importance of Being Earnest. The first thing I noticed about Mike is that he brings such a welcoming joy into the room. He truly loves every aspect of the work. He came into rehearsals with a clear creative vision and skillfully guided each of us to create truthful and multi-layered characters. He was also very intentional about nurturing a sense of ensemble among the cast, which was evident on stage and off as we moved into performances. When you work with Mike, you will have fun, you will work hard and you will grow as a theatre artist. - Stephanie C.
I’ve had the pleasure of being directed by Mike Haddad in several Shakespearean productions. Of the two dozen or so directors I’ve worked with, I would say that Mike is the single best one. He has an instinctive understanding of every character in a production and works conscientiously with each actor to identify their character’s core. He comes to each scene with a clear concept of what he thinks is best, but also listens carefully and without prejudice to each actor’s ideas and suggestions. He is a master at giving useful feedback, getting his point across without ever seeming condescending or dismissive, something not that common among directors. Mike is also extremely organized and never, ever asks an actor to be present unless there is something substantial for them to do - he obviously spends a great deal of time mapping out a rehearsal schedule that works for every actor. Finally, and perhaps most important, Mike creates excellent productions — I have never felt under-rehearsed (or over-rehearsed) in any of his shows, all of which have been successful both personally for me and artistically for our audience. He is a great director, and a wonderful person as well. - Ed B.
